One of Jennie's favorite things about working with children is getting to see the world through their eyes, with an inquisitive and unbiased perspective.
When her own son attended Blooming Garden Preschool several years ago, she appreciated that the atmosphere was one of love, nurturing and creativity. She made it her goal to continue to provide that same nurturing environment their family enjoyed so much. She believes that finding the right preschool is an important first step in helping foster a love of learning and developing meaningful friendships.
In her own time, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and doing a mixed medium of arts and crafts.
Sr Class Teacher
Shona Sponsler discovered Blooming Garden through a past student she provided childcare for. After volunteering in the classroom and participating in special events, she recognized what a special place Blooming Garden is and embraced the opportunity to become a part of it.
She comes to Blooming Garden with a Bachelor of Arts from Pepperdine University, a background in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a willingness to learn, grow and have FUN together! As the students play and experience the world around them, Shona desires to promote appropriate skills and social development and to provide a creative, engaging environment that nurtures, honors and respects each child.
Shona enjoys being outside, learning to cook and spending time with family and friends..

I am so very happy to be a part of the Blooming Garden teaching team. My son attended Blooming Garden and both he and I loved it.
I have taught children’s yoga for the past 10 years, including several years at Blooming Garden. I originally qualified as a Primary (Elementary) teacher in Scotland and have taught a variety of ages in a variety of settings.
I am particularly enthusiastic about working with preschool aged children because I get to have a huge amount of fun, experience their infectious enthusiasm for all kinds of things and because I find I can learn a great deal of good stuff from them! I can only strive to have the same impact!
At home, I seem to spend a lot of time doing the dishes but when I am not doing that I enjoy yoga, reading, being outside and spending time with my family.
Jr Class Teacher / Sr Asst.
Denise is thrilled to be in her second year as a part of the Blooming Garden teaching team! She has over ten years experience working with preschool aged children. She brings with her an Associate in Science, a Bachelor of Arts in English, and an understanding of how important and formative the preschool years are for children and their families.
Denise’s motto is play, learn, experience, and grow together! She loves hands on child-centered activities where she can help nurture learning through play in an all-inclusive environment. She encourages movement, music, art, curiosity, imagination, and the love of nature. Denise loves to listen to kids because they share the most perceptive insights, and she is truly thankful to be able to share genuine experiences with them as a preschool teacher.
On her own time, she shares day-to-day life with her family. Her other interests include hiking, photography, and spending time in the great outdoors with her family and their dog.
A few notes from our preschool parents;
We've been so grateful for the loving, peaceful atmosphere at Blooming Garden which has helped our anxious preschooler bloom into a happy, confident kid. - Ida Sorenson
We love everything about Blooming Garden - We are sad to be graduating on as a family. Blooming Garden is the perfect mix of exploration, creativity and expectations. So full of love, kindness and JOY! - The Rogersons
We have really appreciated the excellent school-to-home communication! Also, the events, such as the father/daughter night and the Mother's Day Tea have made the connection to school so much better. We appreciate all the art projects and emphasis on creativity and self-expression, since we have a little budding artist on our hands. - Trevor Parker
My daughter attended two different preschools, one a co-op and one a well regarded child care facility, before finally finding her place at Blooming Garden. I wish we would've found it sooner! My daughter loves her school and everyone involved in it. She's been shown such kindness, compassion and love and I'm so impressed with all the creative, inspiring things they do in class. i cannot recommend this school enough. It truly is a nurturing place where your child will learn and grow with support, acceptance and joy - Katie
When the time came for my son to attend preschool, Blooming Garden was my first choice, as I liked the days/hours and it's intuitive, play-based philosophy. The school tour ended up being our first and only because upon departure, my son professed his love for the teachers - Teacher Jennie and Teacher Shona, and also for the classroom pet guinea pig. To seal the deal, the playground has a unique seesaw airplane he just absolutely enjoyed playing on. Fast forward two years and his excitment has not dissipated, he counts down the days between school days. I especially appreciate the sense of community within the preschool and the countless kind gestures from the teachers. Things like emails, checking in when my son was sick to Teacher Jennie giving my son the perfect book about being a big brother when he became one himself just one week into preschool. I'm so thankful this school exists and forever grateful to his first teachers ever. I can't recommend this preschool highly enough!" - Stephanie Ziegler
